Chapter 1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Bem-aventurado o homem que não anda segundo o conselho dos ímpios, nem se detém no caminho dos pecadores, nem se assenta na roda dos escarnecedores;   

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

antes tem seu prazer na lei do Senhor, e na sua lei medita de dia e noite.   

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Pois será como a árvore plantada junto às correntes de águas, a qual dá o seu fruto na estação própria, e cuja folha não cai; e tudo quanto fizer prosperará.   

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Não são assim os ímpios, mas são semelhantes à moinha que o vento espalha.   

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Pelo que os ímpios não subsistirão no juízo, nem os pecadores na congregação dos justos;   

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

porque o Senhor conhece o caminho dos justos, mas o caminho dos ímpios conduz à ruína.
