Chapter 2

These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,

Voici les fils d`Israël. Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issacar, Zabulon,

Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad et Aser.

The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him.

Fils de Juda: Er, Onan, Schéla; ces trois lui naquirent de la fille de Schua, la Cananéenne. Er, premier-né de Juda, était méchant aux yeux de l`Éternel, qui le fit mourir.

And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

Tamar, belle-fille de Juda, lui enfanta Pérets et Zérach. Total des fils de Juda: cinq.

The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.

Fils de Pérets: Hetsron et Hamul.

And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.

Fils de Zérach: Zimri, Éthan, Héman, Calcol et Dara. En tout: cinq. -

And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

Fils de Carmi: Acar, qui troubla Israël lorsqu`il commit une infidélité au sujet des choses dévouées par interdit. -

And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.

Fils d`Éthan: Azaria.

The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

Fils qui naquirent à Hetsron: Jerachmeel, Ram et Kelubaï.

And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;

Ram engendra Amminadab. Amminadab engendra Nachschon, prince des fils de Juda.

And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,

Nachschon engendra Salma. Salma engendra Boaz.

And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,

Boaz engendra Obed. Obed engendra Isaï.

And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,

Isaï engendra Éliab, son premier-né, Abinadab le second, Schimea le troisième,

Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

Nethaneel le quatrième, Raddaï le cinquième,

Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:

Otsem le sixième, David le septième.

Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.

Leurs soeurs étaient: Tseruja et Abigaïl. Fils de Tseruja: Abischaï, Joab et Asaël, trois.

And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.

Abigaïl enfanta Amasa; le père d`Amasa fut Jéther, l`Ismaélite.

And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

Caleb, fils de Hetsron, eut des enfants d`Azuba, sa femme, et de Jerioth. Voici les fils qu`il eut d`Azuba: Jéscher, Schobab et Ardon.

And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

Azuba mourut; et Caleb prit Éphrath, qui lui enfanta Hur.

And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.

Hur engendra Uri, et Uri engendra Betsaleel. -

And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.

Ensuite, Hetsron alla vers la fille de Makir, père de Galaad, et il avait soixante ans lorsqu`il la prit; elle lui enfanta Segub.

And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.

Segub engendra Jaïr, qui eut vingt-trois villes dans le pays de Galaad.

And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

Les Gueschuriens et les Syriens leur prirent les bourgs de Jaïr avec Kenath et les villes de son ressort, soixante villes. Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Makir, père de Galaad.

And after that Hezron was dead in Calebephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.

Après la mort de Hetsron à Caleb Éphratha, Abija, femme de Hetsron, lui enfanta Aschchur, père de Tekoa.

And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.

Les fils de Jerachmeel, premier-né de Hetsron, furent: Ram, le premier-né, Buna, Oren et Otsem, nés d`Achija.

Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

Jerachmeel eut une autre femme, nommée Athara, qui fut mère d`Onam. -

And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.

Les fils de Ram, premier-né de Jerachmeel, furent: Maats, Jamin et Éker. -

And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.

Les fils d`Onam furent: Schammaï et Jada. Fils de Schammaï: Nadab et Abischur.

And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

Le nom de la femme d`Abischur était Abichaïl, et elle lui enfanta Achban et Molid.

And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.

Fils de Nadab: Séled et Appaïm. Séled mourut sans fils.

And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.

Fils d`Appaïm: Jischeï. Fils de Jischeï: Schéschan. Fils de Schéschan: Achlaï. -

And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.

Fils de Jada, frère de Schammaï: Jéther et Jonathan. Jéther mourut sans fils.

And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

Fils de Jonathan: Péleth et Zara. -Ce sont là les fils de Jerachmeel. -

Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

Schéschan n`eut point de fils, mais il eut des filles. Schéschan avait un esclave égyptien nommé Jarcha.

And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.

Et Schéschan donna sa fille pour femme à Jarcha, son esclave, à qui elle enfanta Attaï.

And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,

Attaï engendra Nathan; Nathan engendra Zabad;

And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,

Zabad engendra Ephlal; Ephlal engendra Obed;

And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,

Obed engendra Jéhu; Jéhu engendra Azaria;

And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,

Azaria engendra Halets; Halets engendra Élasa;

And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,

Élasa engendra Sismaï; Sismaï engendra Schallum;

And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.

Schallum engendra Jekamja; Jekamja engendra Élischama.

Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

Fils de Caleb, frère de Jerachmeel: Méscha, son premier-né, qui fut père de Ziph, et les fils de Maréscha, père d`Hébron.

And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.

Fils d`Hébron: Koré, Thappuach, Rékem et Schéma.

And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai.

Schéma engendra Racham, père de Jorkeam. Rékem engendra Schammaï.

And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Bethzur.

Fils de Schammaï: Maon; et Maon, père de Beth Tsur.

And Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bare Haran, and Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez.

Épha, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Haran, Motsa et Gazez. Haran engendra Gazez.

And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.

Fils de Jahdaï: Réguem, Jotham, Guéschan, Péleth, Épha et Schaaph.

Maachah, Caleb's concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah.

Maaca, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Schéber et Tirchana.

She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

Elle enfanta encore Schaaph, père de Madmanna, et Scheva, père de Macbéna et père de Guibea. La fille de Caleb était Acsa.

These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim,

Ceux-ci furent fils de Caleb: Schobal, fils de Hur, premier-né d`Éphrata, et père de Kirjath Jearim;

Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Bethgader.

Salma, père de Bethléhem; Hareph, père de Beth Gader.

And Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.

Les fils de Schobal, père de Kirjath Jearim, furent: Haroé, Hatsi Hammenuhoth.

And the families of Kirjathjearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.

Les familles de Kirjath Jearim furent: les Jéthriens, les Puthiens, les Schumathiens et les Mischraïens; de ces familles sont sortis les Tsoreathiens et les Eschthaoliens.

The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.

Fils de Salma: Bethléhem et les Nethophatiens, Athroth Beth Joab, Hatsi Hammanachthi, les Tsoreïns;

And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.

et les familles des scribes demeurant à Jaebets, les Thireathiens, les Schimeathiens et les Sucathiens. Ce sont les Kéniens, issus de Hamath, père de la maison de Récab.
