Chapter 6

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Fratelli, qualora uno venga sorpreso in qualche colpa, voi che avete lo Spirito correggetelo con dolcezza. E vigila su te stesso, per non cadere anche tu in tentazione.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Portate i pesi gli uni degli altri, così adempirete la legge di Cristo.

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Se infatti uno pensa di essere qualcosa mentre non è nulla, inganna se stesso.

But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Ciascuno esamini invece la propria condotta e allora solo in se stesso e non negli altri troverà motivo di vanto:

For every man shall bear his own burden.

ciascuno infatti porterà il proprio fardello.

Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

Chi viene istruito nella dottrina, faccia parte di quanto possiede a chi lo istruisce.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Non vi fate illusioni; non ci si può prendere gioco di Dio. Ciascuno raccoglierà quello che avrà seminato.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Chi semina nella sua carne, dalla carne raccoglierà corruzione; chi semina nello Spirito, dallo Spirito raccoglierà vita eterna.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

E non stanchiamoci di fare il bene; se infatti non desistiamo, a suo tempo mieteremo.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Poiché dunque ne abbiamo l'occasione, operiamo il bene verso tutti, soprattutto verso i fratelli nella fede.

Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

Vedete con che grossi caratteri vi scrivo, ora, di mia mano.

As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

Quelli che vogliono fare bella figura nella carne, vi costringono a farvi circoncidere, solo per non essere perseguitati a causa della croce di Cristo.

For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Infatti neanche gli stessi circoncisi osservano la legge, ma vogliono la vostra circoncisione per trarre vanto dalla vostra carne.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Quanto a me invece non ci sia altro vanto che nella croce del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, per mezzo della quale il mondo per me è stato crocifisso, come io per il mondo.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Non è infatti la circoncisione che conta, né la non circoncisione, ma l'essere nuova creatura.

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

E su quanti seguiranno questa norma sia pace e misericordia, come su tutto l'Israele di Dio.

From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

D'ora innanzi nessuno mi procuri fastidi: difatti io porto le stigmate di Gesù nel mio corpo.
