Chapter 66

To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

Al maestro del coro. Canto. Salmo. cantate alla gloria del suo nome, date a lui splendida lode.

Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.

Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

Dite a Dio: «Stupende sono le tue opere! Per la grandezza della tua potenza a te si piegano i tuoi nemici.

All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

A te si prostri tutta la terra, a te canti inni, canti al tuo nome».

Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

Venite e vedete le opere di Dio, mirabile nel suo agire sugli uomini.

He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.

Egli cambiò il mare in terra ferma, passarono a piedi il fiume; per questo in lui esultiamo di gioia.

He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

Con la sua forza domina in eterno, il suo occhio scruta le nazioni; i ribelli non rialzino la fronte.

O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

Benedite, popoli, il nostro Dio, fate risuonare la sua lode;

Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

è lui che salvò la nostra vita e non lasciò vacillare i nostri passi.

For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

Dio, tu ci hai messi alla prova; ci hai passati al crogiuolo, come l'argento.

Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

Ci hai fatti cadere in un agguato, hai messo un peso ai nostri fianchi.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

Hai fatto cavalcare uomini sulle nostre teste; ci hai fatto passare per il fuoco e l'acqua, ma poi ci hai dato sollievo.

I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,

Entrerò nella tua casa con olocausti, a te scioglierò i miei voti,

Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

i voti pronunziati dalle mie labbra, promessi nel momento dell'angoscia.

I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

Ti offrirò pingui olocausti con fragranza di montoni, immolerò a te buoi e capri.

Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Venite, ascoltate, voi tutti che temete Dio, e narrerò quanto per me ha fatto.

I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

A lui ho rivolto il mio grido, la mia lingua cantò la sua lode.

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Se nel mio cuore avessi cercato il male, il Signore non mi avrebbe ascoltato.

But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Ma Dio ha ascoltato, si è fatto attento alla voce della mia preghiera.

Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Sia benedetto Dio che non ha respinto la mia preghiera, non mi ha negato la sua misericordia.
