Chapter 62

To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

Al maestro del coro. Su «Iduthun». Salmo. Di Davide. Solo in Dio riposa l'anima mia; da lui la mia salvezza.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Lui solo è mia rupe e mia salvezza, mia roccia di difesa: non potrò vacillare.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

Fino a quando vi scaglierete contro un uomo, per abbatterlo tutti insieme, come muro cadente, come recinto che crolla?

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

Tramano solo di precipitarlo dall'alto, si compiacciono della menzogna. Con la bocca benedicono, e maledicono nel loro cuore.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Solo in Dio riposa l'anima mia, da lui la mia speranza.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

Lui solo è mia rupe e mia salvezza, mia roccia di difesa: non potrò vacillare.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

In Dio è la mia salvezza e la mia gloria; il mio saldo rifugio, la mia difesa è in Dio.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Confida sempre in lui, o popolo, davanti a lui effondi il tuo cuore, nostro rifugio è Dio.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

Sì, sono un soffio i figli di Adamo, una menzogna tutti gli uomini, insieme, sulla bilancia, sono meno di un soffio.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

Non confidate nella violenza, non illudetevi della rapina; alla ricchezza, anche se abbonda, non attaccate il cuore.

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Una parola ha detto Dio, due ne ho udite: il potere appartiene a Dio, tua, Signore, è la grazia;

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

secondo le sue opere tu ripaghi ogni uomo.
