Chapter 122

A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

(Ein Lied Davids im höhern Chor.) Ich freute mich über die, so mir sagten: Laßt uns ins Haus des HERRN gehen!

Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Unsre Füße stehen in deinen Toren, Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:

Jerusalem ist gebaut, daß es eine Stadt sei, da man zusammenkommen soll,

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

da die Stämme hinaufgehen, die Stämme des HERRN, wie geboten ist dem Volk Israel, zu danken dem Namen des Herrn.

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Denn daselbst sind Stühle zum Gericht, die Stühle des Hauses David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Wünschet Jerusalem Glück! Es möge wohl gehen denen, die dich lieben!

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

Es möge Friede sein in deinen Mauern und Glück in deinen Palästen!

For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Um meiner Brüder und Freunde willen will ich dir Frieden wünschen.

Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

Um des Hauses willen des HERRN, unsers Gottes, will ich dein Bestes suchen.
