Chapter 118

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

Louez l`Éternel, car il est bon, Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!

Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Qu`Israël dise: Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Que la maison d`Aaron dise: Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!

Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

Que ceux qui craignent l`Éternel disent: Car sa miséricorde dure à toujours!

I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.

Du sein de la détresse j`ai invoqué l`Éternel: L`Éternel m`a exaucé, m`a mis au large.

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

L`Éternel est pour moi, je ne crains rien: Que peuvent me faire des hommes?

The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

L`Éternel est mon secours, Et je me réjouis à la vue de mes ennemis.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

Mieux vaut chercher un refuge en l`Éternel Que de se confier à l`homme;

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Mieux vaut chercher un refuge en l`Éternel Que de se confier aux grands.

All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.

Toutes les nations m`environnaient: Au nom de l`Éternel, je les taille en pièces.

They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

Elles m`environnaient, m`enveloppaient: Au nom de l`Éternel, je les taille en pièces.

They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

Elles m`environnaient comme des abeilles; Elles s`éteignent comme un feu d`épines; Au nom de l`Éternel, je les taille en pièces.

Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.

Tu me poussais pour me faire tomber; Mais l`Éternel m`a secouru.

The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

L`Éternel est ma force et le sujet de mes louanges; C`est lui qui m`a sauvé.

The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

Des cris de triomphe et de salut s`élèvent dans les tentes des justes: La droite de l`Éternel manifeste sa puissance!

The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

La droite de l`Éternel est élevée! La droite de l`Éternel manifeste sa puissance!

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Je ne mourrai pas, je vivrai, Et je raconterai les oeuvres de l`Éternel.

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

L`Éternel m`a châtié, Mais il ne m`a pas livré à la mort.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:

Ouvrez-moi les portes de la justice: J`entrerai, je louerai l`Éternel.

This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

Voici la porte de l`Éternel: C`est par elle qu`entrent les justes.

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

Je te loue, parce que tu m`as exaucé, Parce que tu m`as sauvé.

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

La pierre qu`ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient Est devenue la principale de l`angle.

This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

C`est de l`Éternel que cela est venu: C`est un prodige à nos yeux.

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

C`est ici la journée que l`Éternel a faite: Qu`elle soit pour nous un sujet d`allégresse et de joie!

Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

O Éternel, accorde le salut! O Éternel, donne la prospérité!

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

Béni soit celui qui vient au nom de l`Éternel! Nous vous bénissons de la maison de l`Éternel.

God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

L`Éternel est Dieu, et il nous éclaire. Attachez la victime avec des liens, Amenez-la jusqu`aux cornes de l`autel!

Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

Tu es mon Dieu, et je te louerai; Mon Dieu! je t`exalterai.
